16 month old Charlotte

This is as good as it gets for a smile for this one lately.  She smiles all the time but once you get the camera out she gives me all sorts of faces...

Charlotte is 16 months old today! I just don't even know how she went from sooo teeny to a giant!! I just love this age though she is so so much fun, she is my mini me (except she looks 100% like the hubs).  She says so many words, and repeats everything I say.  The hubs told her to call me Amy last night and she now calls me that...noottttt cool hubs.  All day I have been correcting her.  oh well.  She is such a picky eater literally all she eats is vegetable soup, ramen noodles, beans, strawberries, raisens, crackers, cheese, yogurt, applesauce, bananas, and bread.  I guess I am lucky she actually eats that though, and it is pretty cheap.

She runs arounds like crazy, loves swings, slides, dogs, flowers, dresses, hugs, kisses, ice cream, pretty much everything actually she is the best little girl, and my little bff.  She doesn't like when I leave the room (follows me everywhere: yes even the bathroom), changing her diaper, getting dressed, and most food haha I just love her.  She is showing so much love lately, she will just randomly give us hugs and kisses (like full on mouth to mouth saying MMMWAHH) so cute.

Progress

Today I went to IKEA.  Let me just say I have loved that store ever since 500 days of summer came out and they frolicked around the store.  I just LOVE walking around and looking at everything...so I had a budget for Charlotte's craft/reading room of 100$ annnnd I only spent 90$ go me! I didn't find the rug I wanted, but we had an old one laying around that we never used so I just put it in there.  So far in the room are the pillows, francisco, the rug, and the easel.  This is my first progress picture! After we went on our walk to Trader Joes (to get some wine duh) the canopy I ordered from World Market was waiting on our door step!! I can't wait for the hubs to put up all the shelves and the canopy (he complains but whatevs).  Last night was so amazing.  I finished my finals so we drank some wine and stayed up super late (like midnight, you guys I am a mom) talking and planning stuff for the future it was so fun, and the hubs is so great I just love him. 

Ok I am going to go watch parks and rec and have a glass of wine (from T.J.'s obviously).  Happy Monday!

This weekend was so busy, the hubs basically worked the entire time, so me and Char had a lot of mommy/daughter bonding time.  We went to the farmers market, a few parks, read books, did our nails, and had so much fun.  On Saturday I went to my bestfriend M's wedding shower, it was so beautiful, and I can't even wait until her wedding in July! I can't even believe its May on Wednesday...this month flew by.  Classes are OVER for the semester, I did pretty well for my first semester back, now I have two weeks off until I start summer semester.  C is up from her nap now singing away, guess I better go entertain her!

This week has been so crazy.  It is finals week for both me and the hubs, so he has been working non stop from 8 a.m. until sometimes midnight or later (even weekends).  I just feel so tired because I have had to study and take finals along with chasing after Charlotte...no time to breathe! Last night we went to the comedy club for the hubs free birthday tickets I was srsly so tired I couldn't even function, so when they started talking about poop? I almost peed my pants I was laughing so hard.

This morning when I went downstairs my mom told me that Callie (our cat) had escaped last night somehow from upstairs (which is kind of impossible since there is a door) hahaha no wonder I couldn't find her this morning she was ptfo under the bed because of her adventures last night with my dog...

5 things

1.) I just online shopped for the first time in a long time.  It is so addicting. I blame fashion bloggers.  I am trying so hard to pay off my credit card and I have been doing so well...until today.  Sorry hubs. 

2.) It is definitely hailing here today. I can't even talk about it.

3.) I got a canopy for Char's reading room! Next I am going to get twinkle lights I can't even wait.  Also on the list is a chevron rug, lots of fun pillows, spice racks for book shelves (thank you Pinterest) and a chalkboard.  I can't wait to show you all when it is done!

4.) I tried to put C down for a nap today, she wasn't having it.  Every time I went in there to calm her down and say shhhh she started giggling at me...it is SO hard for me not to smile and laugh along with her when this happens. What a character.

5.) We are going to the comedy club tonight for the hubs free birthday tickets I am excited! It better stop hailing.

Char baby had an afro

This morning we decided to do something fun, and since the hubs had to go into work around 12:30 and stay until midnight or later we both needed some family time since the weekend was kind of a bust with all the homework I had to do! So we went to Greenfield Village, which is this really amazing "village" of historic homes, farms, and tons of other things to look at.  I went every year growing up in school and have not been in a really long time, and the hubs had only been here once so it was really cool to look around, and we pretty much had the place to ourselves since it was a Tuesday morning.  It was a gorgeous day, Char loved seeing all the animals except the turkeys she was majorly scared of, I mean I kind of don't blame her because they really freak me out too.


When we got home we were both so incredibly tired we both passed out, I woke up after an hour and worked on a paper (ugh cannot waiiiit until Saturday) but she kept sleeping, after a few days of short naps this three hour nap was much needed.  I almost cry every time if she has a short nap day...when she was around ten months old she stopped doing two naps a day, which I didn't mind so much because her afternoon nap she would go down around one and not get up until 4...fast forward to 15 months and she varies from half an hour to 3 hours, it is so unpredictable.

After she woke up we got her crayons and markers out and drew pictures, and read books, and talked to my mom, it was kind of the perfect girls day.  I actually don't really mind when the hubs works late because I get to hang out with my little favorite.  Her hair was out of control today with the humidity, it got sooo curly and she ended up with a little fro...I mean is there anything cuter? You can kind of see it on top of her head in these pictures.

peony gardens

There is a place in my town where there are amazing walking trails and peony gardens...usually around this time they start to bloom, but not this year...we have literally only had a handful of 60 degree plus days so I think the gardens won't start blooming until mid may if it stays warm! It is one of our favorite places to hike around and have picnics.  There is also an area where you can build your own fairy doors, its pretty awesome.  We went today before dropping the hubs off at work and walked around, it was so nice to soak in some fresh air even if it was only 50 degrees, at least the sun was shining! Char baby had a blast, she loves sitting on stumps, collecting pinecones and running around.

Charlotte's feet have grown a size in the past 3 days...I am so sad because her chuck taylor's are too small now, along with a few of her other shoes...oh well more shoe shopping for us I guess! I mean when you are raising a giant I guess worse things could happen.

We have decided to turn the office/cat room into Char's playroom/guest room/reading room.  So far we got the cats a new bigger litter box with a lid and moved that into the bathroom, and moved their food into my closet up on a shelf so that C can't reach it, we also moved one of the book shelves into the closet.  Now I have to get all my ideas together and start being as thrifty as possible, I will post pictures once it is complete!

I keep having dreams that I am B. Spears...?

Omg I watched What would Ryan Lochte do last night and it was so incredibly stupid, I turned it off after the first 10 minutes, it was srsly the dumbest thing I think I have ever seen.

I love Saturdays!! It is just so nice not to have anything to do.  Except this weekend I have so much to do for school...what teacher makes an exam on weekends? oh thats right TWO of mine do.  today the hubs had to go into work so me and C had a fun girls day.  I got Char these leopard leggings at old navy and I LOVE them.  usually the hubs doesn't like animal print but he changed his mind once he saw her.  I really need a tripod.  I also need some more frames and to print out a bunch of pictures.  Well I should go study because I need some good grades as well...happy weekend!

you are my sunshine

We had a rare 70 degree day here in balmy MI today (srsly MI is bipolar, tomorrow it is supposed to be 50s...) so we decided to take advantage of it and go to the park! We met a few friends there and they had an awesome time running around, swinging, and chasing geese.  Geese are so scary, I forgot that they hiss at you.  

The rest of my day was notttt so good. Char only napped for an hour again so we were able to go to the hubs award ceremony, but we had to park so far away (I of course forgot the stroller), then she pooped when we got there (I only brought one wipe), and when we left it started POURING down rain (I didn't have my umbrella).  So not the best day ever. Dairy Queen here I come.

Happy Birthday to the Hubs

 Today is the hubs 26th birthday!! C and I woke him up this morning with birthday kisses and hugs and brought him a hat to put on and brought him downstairs where this awesome sign and 26 reasons why he is awesome on sticky notes were (along with a few presents) haha we made him wear this birthday button all day (he secretly loved it).  We went to Angelos for breakfast which is the best place ever in town and has the best eggs benedict (the hubs fav) and if it is your birthday you even get 50% off! Then we made our way downtown and got his free birthday Biggby drink and Starbucks drink (he gave me one yay!).  So far it has been a fun day for him, and tonight the celebration continues we are going out to his favorite restaurant.  He really is the best hubs ever, he is smart, caring, and the best dad!
