Father's Day Weekend

We had a great weekend just hanging out at home, trying not to melt in 100 degree weather, and eating lots of yummy food.  For Father's day we let Russ sleep in, he got coffee in bed, and home made cards.  We also went to eat at one of his favorite places where he got a beer glass for free (score).  After the girls took their naps we headed to the beach and swam.  We sure are lucky to have Russ in our lives, he takes such good care of us, makes dinner most of the time, always has a hug for us, and never complains.  We love you!! We are counting down the days until we head to the Outer Banks with my family, 12 more days!!! We are so excited we can hardly wait and already have our suitcases out ready to be packed!

MIA...Knoxville and an update

Ok so I have been majorly slacking in the blog department lately!! Over the weekend we went and visited my college bff Britt in Knoxville, TN and we had a blast.  We got to go on a boat, see downtown Knoxville, and hike a really pretty mountain.  We left Friday morning and when we got to her house went to this park that had fountains for kids to run through, Char had a BLAST and got soaking wet.  The girls went to bed at 7, and slept the whole night they were exhausted it was kind of amazing.  Saturday morning we went to the farmers market and it was so cool, it was on an all pedestrian main street and had all these local food trucks, art, etc.  We got coffee and a lot of donuts, best morning ever.  Then we went and met the rest of her family for a boat ride and just hung out on there for the rest of the day.  The girls had to wear life jackets on the boat the entire time and I am so mad at myself for not taking a picture of E in hers, she was a little stuffed sausage and looked hilarious.  I thought it would go one of two ways: Pissed at us and cry the entire time, or just resign herself to it and be happy.  She resigned herself to being fine with it, gave up and passed the f out for a solid two naps while we were out there.  They were both SO good on the boat, I was a proud mama!
After we put girls to bed, me and Britt went to watch the sunset on top of a hill overlooking the city...it was SO PRETTY!!! There was this swing up there that we went on and it was super peaceful and the perfect end to our day.  The next morning we got up and hit the road to find Max Patch mountain.  It is right over the border in NC (exit 7 if you ever want to go!) and holy wow were the views amazing.  It was about 1.4 miles up to the top and I think it was pretty much the perfect day.
Update with the rest of what has been going on: We are moving into a HOUSE next month.  E is 10 months old, she has 6 teeth now, and is the CUTEST thing ever in life.  Char never stops talking, has such an amazing imagination, loves to swim and play with her sister.  Russ loves his job still.  I love my job (my SAHM one, AND R&F ha) both are great, never thought I would love R&F as much as I do, and Russ loves it too because he gets a new grill, tent, and lawn mower (oh my gosh we are old).
That is what is new, and I will be back sooner then 3 months next time!

Best Weekend

We had a really great weekend.  I have been feeling in a funk lately and not myself, I think it was just being sick/allergies combined with Elle not sleeping well, and long work days for Russ.  BUT this weekend cured it all.  Saturday we went to Jordan Lake for a picnic and it was the perfect weather, that night I got to go out with some sweet friends to a Greek restaurant downtown and listen to live music, eat amazing Greek food, and have the belly dancer put her sword on my head...haha then today we went to Duke Gardens which have to be the prettiest gardens ever, perfect weather and perfect lighting (haha the photographer in me).  All in all I never want it to end!!
Hope you all had a great weekend as well :)

Mel and Jari Maternity Pictures

I forgot to blog these pictures from back in March, I got to take these sweet pictures when I went home to visit last month! I used to work with Mel about 5 years ago, and have always loved talking with her.  I got to take these maternity pictures at their home, and I am obsessed with this babies chevron wall! Mel was absolutely glowing, and I can't wait for them to be parents in May. Thanks for letting me take your pictures guys :)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter! Church is always super early for us on Sunday's and so we usually struggle getting out the door early enough! Today though we actually made it out of the door at 8 am and got a great parking spot and seats.  The Easter bunny also made it early to our house and Charlotte was beyond excited to eat her candy.  After church we came back and just hung out at home, had early naps, and then went over to our friends for lunch and another egg hunt.  It was the most beautiful day, and I feel so thankful for the new friends we have made here.  They have made it feel so much more like home!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend!
