entertainment

Happy Mothers day! C is in a phase where she has absolute endless energy...she is like the energizer bunny and its all I can do to keep up with her.  We were trying to finish her craft room today but one of us had to be entertaining her while the other one (not me) put everything together.  She learned how to say "walk please" and so she probably asks me that ten times a day or more, and it happened to be like 45 degrees today so not such a great day for one, but of course I am a sucker when she says "peas peas peas" and took her anyhow.  We went to the tigers game last night, I had my future SIL's shower this weekend, a graduation brunch (which I flat out MISSED because of traffic), then today was mothers day, I got flowers, pretzel m and m's and to run around after C all day.  Being a mom is probably the hardest, and most rewarding job I have ever done.  I love that little girl with my whole heart, but sometimes when she drinks water out of the toilet, eats cat food, spills my coffee all over my lap, wants nothing to do with her high chair, pulls the dogs tail, yells at the top of her lungs "BABABABAAA" she drives me absolutely crazy.  I wouldn't trade any of it though, I am always entertained, always busy, and never bored.  Thank you to all the moms out there, especially my own mom who went through all that and more with me and my brother.  Hope you all had a great weekend!

mood swing city

//do not get me started on her shoes...she won't let anyone pick shoes for her, so she wears whatever even if they don't match her outfit...I have a teenager already//

On our anniversary we went to the botanical gardens but this time we went to the outside kids area it was so fun for C to run around and explore, she loved the little house and the bells the most.  After we went there we got lunch near school (because I had to go to math class yuck) after class the hubs picked me up and we got milkshakes at steak and shake so yummy.  He also showed up with a sweet card and flowers:) We didn't do anything that night because I still am not feeling so great from this sinus infection, but honestly it was the perfect way to celebrate, nice and relaxing.

This week Char has been a complete monster, we think it is teething, or the terrible twos or maybe both? The hubs and her are mortal enemies she doesn't want anything to do with him, and only is happy when she is around our dog, me, or the cats.  Even with me sometimes she is hit or miss...you know its going to be a fun day when the hubs says: "I wish you sanity and sainthood today" when talking about me spending the day with shorty.  She has crazy mood swings, like in the span of one minute she is happy, sad,  and angry.  I hope this phase ends soon, it is driving me crazy.  This weekend is another super busy one, birthdays, showers, grad brunches, tigers game, and mothers day!

3 years of wedded bliss...or something like that!

Today is me and the hubs 3 year wedding anniversary...I can't even believe how fast these past 3 years have gone! The best years ever.  I love that the hubs lets me be weird, and that we have funny voices we talk to each other in sometimes, and that we have dance parties at breakfast and other random times, I love that he just makes me laugh constantly, and that he is so smart.  He is my best friend and I am so lucky to have found him all those years ago...we have gone through some hard times, and some awesome ones, and I can't wait to see what the rest of our lives have in store for us.  Some things I have learned during my short 3 years of marriage are:

go on date nights at least once a month with just you two, leave the phones in the car.  It is important to keep that spark alive and to remember why you dated in the first place!
communicate we went through long distance for 2 years of our dating life and it was sooo hard but we talked a lot and it made our relationship stronger, we go on walks after dinner now and make sure we hear about each others days, or just talk about what our hopes and dreams are, its nice to sometimes know that the other person supports you.
do little things even if it is just leaving a bowl for his breakfast out, it doesn't go unnoticed.
turn off the tv and just talk for a few hours once a month or week or whatever, its sometimes nice to just stay up late talking or dreaming about the future
plan vacations even if it is in the future, planning something fun always makes us talk about what we want to do, and we have a list for when we have money of places we dream about going.

Those are just a few little things I have learned, I am sure I will learn a lot as we get older but its nice to know we don't hate each other yet! I read somewhere on an e-card or something that the secret to marriage is that you both don't want a divorce at the same time...hahahah anyways I will leave you with  some pictures of our wedding day...

quick trip

//super awkward fam photo//

This past weekend was crazy busy, we went to see Shrek the musical at our old high school on Friday night, it was suprisingly really great! I loved the movie though, nothing will ever compare.  Then Saturday morning we got up bright and early to head to my future SIL's graduation (omg they get married in like 4 weeks...) but turned out we got a really mean guy as a ticketor and he wouldn't let us in with our stroller, or our diapers in the bag, or without a ticket for Char.  Stupid. On the website it didn't say anything about ANY of that...plus the guy my mom got let strollers and babies in...so we turned around and left and took that awkward photo in the parking lot.  ANYWAYS as we were driving our car started shaking weirdly and the check engine light came on, thank goodness we were right by an Uncle Ed's and stopped in to get our oil changed and just to check the engine...200$ later our car was fixed and we could be on our merry way to Chicago.

Well just then Char decided to have a complete meltdown so we stopped at a park and let her play for half an hour to get her wiggles out...after that we left and started our long drive to Chicago.  Monster baby.  She only slept for half an hour and literally would scream unless one of us was back there with her (even then she was so whiny) needless to say I think we made it to Chicago in record timing because we drove like 85 MPH the whole way.  Once we got to our hotel we immediately changed into our bathing suits and went swimming, Char definitely used to love the pool...NOT Saturday, she screamed until I took her out...then we got ready to meet our good friends from college for a mexican feast for cinco de mayo, we had margaritas and some super yummy food.  It was so great seeing them and catching up.

That night we all went to bed at 9 p.m.  The next day we packed up and went to the botanical gardens which were some of the prettiest gardens I have ever seen, all the tulips were up it was gorgeous.  We met my baby BFF L and her hubby for brunch, they had just moved to Chicago so it was amazing to see them plus L is 6 months preggers with a baby girl! We took a picture of all the girls, and just walked around catching up.  After that we left to go home and C promptly fell fast asleep for about 1.5 hours of the 4 hour trip.  When she woke up she was a monster again.  We made it home and she slept until like 10 a.m. the next morning.  We are never going away for one night ever again until she is much MUCH older.

Class started for me on Monday and omg I haven't taken a math class since like 2008, so I am super rusty on everything.  Thank god the hubs is great at math, although he said he would tutor me but that his rate is 30$ an hour...dummy.  I got a weird sinus infection and have had awful allergies since Sunday so that is why it took me until today to function to write this post.  I literally have been sleeping all of my free time, until today I took excedrin and sudafed and it cleared it right up. Tomorrow is me and the hubs 3 year wedding anniversary!

sunshine and little besties

Today was a day full of parks, being outside, and little besties.  We went to a cute little town this morning with big and little J, they had a blast running around the park and fountain.  There was this little boutique there also called Bella Mia and ohh my gosh I found my new favorite store!  So many cute dresses, tops, and shoes...good thing I didn't bring any money (your welcome hubs).  After nap time we went back out to another park near Char's bestie, little M's house.  They are so cute together, I just love them.  After our day we are so exhausted, but I would not trade this sunshine for anything, I am soaking it all up!

yellow stripes

Oh my gosh is there seriously anything better than stripes? I found Char's striped pants on sale at Old Navy and then realized I had a striped shirt in my closet to match (is anyone surprised?) if you have seen my closet it is legit 80% stripes.  I prob should get the hubs on board...

Today I subbed for my favorite class of 4th graders, they were seriously so crazy, spring has hit them hard and they are sooo ready for summer.  I am glad I actually want to be a teacher...otherwise I am not sure how I would deal with 28 kids saying "Mrs. B, how do we do this?" "Mrs. B can I go to the bathroom?" "Mrs. B he hit me!" a million times a day.  I love it (mostly).

It was so beautiful like 80 degrees, felt like summer so after I got home from subbing I was outside until it was time to put char down for bed.  I love love love this weather, it makes me so happy, plus I got a little color (which I desperately need for my bridesmaids dresses to look good, I am pretty pale and coral and yellow look better if I am tan for real).  All the trees are budding, the flowers are blooming, and no more puffy coats!!

We are going to Chicago spontaneously on Saturday night, I was going to surprise the hubs but I am so bad at keeping surprises from him because I get so excited I just have to tell him (I need to work on this).

Also this is random but I got an elephant print shirt...I love elephants and I am obsessed with it.

16 month old Charlotte

This is as good as it gets for a smile for this one lately.  She smiles all the time but once you get the camera out she gives me all sorts of faces...

Charlotte is 16 months old today! I just don't even know how she went from sooo teeny to a giant!! I just love this age though she is so so much fun, she is my mini me (except she looks 100% like the hubs).  She says so many words, and repeats everything I say.  The hubs told her to call me Amy last night and she now calls me that...noottttt cool hubs.  All day I have been correcting her.  oh well.  She is such a picky eater literally all she eats is vegetable soup, ramen noodles, beans, strawberries, raisens, crackers, cheese, yogurt, applesauce, bananas, and bread.  I guess I am lucky she actually eats that though, and it is pretty cheap.

She runs arounds like crazy, loves swings, slides, dogs, flowers, dresses, hugs, kisses, ice cream, pretty much everything actually she is the best little girl, and my little bff.  She doesn't like when I leave the room (follows me everywhere: yes even the bathroom), changing her diaper, getting dressed, and most food haha I just love her.  She is showing so much love lately, she will just randomly give us hugs and kisses (like full on mouth to mouth saying MMMWAHH) so cute.

Happy 16 months baby girl, we love you to the moon and back!
